Ashton Kutcher is WINNING and no you aren’t getting punk’d! CBS and Warner Bros. Television have officially confirmed that Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen on the hit series Two and a Half Men! The anouncement ends weeks of speculation and rumors ranging from Hugh Grant to John Stamos as possible replacements for Sheen. This will be Kutcher’s first scripted TV role since he played Michael Kelso in the Fox comedy That ’70s Show which ended in 2006.
“I can’t wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers’ homes,” said Kutcher. “I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!”
Chuck Lorre, creator and executive producer of Two and a Half Men said “We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family. Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it’d be illegal.”
Kutcher joins existing castmates Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones, Holland Taylor, Marin Hinkle and Conchata Ferrell on the series, which is set to begin production on its ninth season this summer and premiere in the fall.
What do you think? Can Kutcher pick up where Sheen left off?
