Justin Bieber got quite a scare earlier this week. The pop sensation’s grandparents, Bruce and Diane Dale, were in a car accident in Ontario.
Bruce suffered minor injuries on Tuesday when the SUV he was driving hit a patch of slushy ice and rolled into a ditch northeast of Stratford, Ontario, according to Const. Kees Wijnands, Media Relations Officer for the Ontario Provincial Police in Perth County.
Dale was taken to the Stratford General Hospital where he was treated for broken ribs and released later the same day, and Bieber’s grandmother, Diane, was unhurt, said Wijnands.
Later in the evening, Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, tweeted about the accident.
“My parents got into a car accident today. They flipped into a ditch & totaled the car but thank God they are alive! My dad has broken ribs. Plz pray 4 him 4 quick healing! Count your blessings & forgive ur parents always. U never know what tomorrow holds!!!”
Later, Mallette added, “Thank u all for your love and prayers. Papa is sore but he’s ok! My mom has a broken and swollen finger but she’s tough as nails.”
No word yet from the Biebs himself although “#PrayForJustinsGrandparents” became a trending Twitter topic within hours of the incident.
