When the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in black strapless Alexander McQueen gown for The Sun’s Military Awards on Sunday, it was impossible not to draw comparisons to another stunning dress – that worn by Prince William’s mother, Lady Diana.
30 years ago, 19 year old Diana made headlines when she wore a long strapless Elizabeth Emmanuel gown at her first official engagement at the Royal Opera House. Like Kate’s dress, the gown featured a ruffled sweetheart neckline, although Diana’s dress was made with satin while Kate’s dress is velvet.
We think it’s great that Kate choose a dress so similar to one worn by Princess Diana! What about you?
