Kate Winslet Escapes
A House Fire

Kate Winslet and her family safely escaped a fire the broke out in the middle of the night at the private home of Richard Branson this morning. Winslet, along with her children Mia and Joe, and boyfriend Louis Dowler, were forced out of the Neckor Island home when flames ripped through the home. Also in the home was Branson’s 90-year-old mother, Eve, and 29 year-old daughter, Holly.

According to Branson, who wrote on his blog early this morning to discuss the event, said that a tropical storm with winds around 90 mph hit the island, with a lightning storm descending on the property around 4 a.m.

Everyone who was in the home at the time are now safe and staying at another location on the island. The fire was said to have caused “substantial damage” to the house.

Very happy to hear everyone is ok! We can’t say this is what Winslet had in mind when visiting the beautiful island for a holiday vacation.
