On Wednesday (Nov 9th) the 50 year old actor pulled of his gig as host of the 84th Academy Awards. This news comes only hours after Murphy’s good friend, “Tower Heist” director Brett Ratner resigned from the show after using a gay slur at a screening of his latest flick.
In a statement, the Murphy said, “First and foremost I want to say I completely understand and support each party’s decision with regard to a change of producers for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. I was truly looking forward to being a part of the show that our production team and writers were just starting to develop, but I’m sure that the new production team and host will do an equally great job.”
So now it’s back to the drawing board for the Academy who only has three months to find a new host and producer.
Any suggestions on who will take over Murphy’s spot?
