With Eddie Murphy gone as host of 84th Annual Academy Awards, the search is fast underway for his replacement. A whole range of names are being thrown into the ring from Neil Patrick Harris to Billy Crystal to Adam Sandler.
Sure, they’d all be great hosts, but it looks like the public has someone else in mind. Or something else.
We’re talking about The Muppets.
A Facebook and Twitter campaign has officially been launched and is quickly gaining momentum to help The Muppets score the Oscar’s gig. Facebook now has an “The Muppets Should Host the 2012 Oscars” campaign page (with over 30,000 Likes) and supporters can follow the Twitter feed @MuppetOscars (which already has over 11,000 followers). Impressive numbers for a campaign that started less than 24 hours ago.
What do you think? Should Kermit and Miss Piggy emcee the Oscars?
