Just when things were starting to look up for Kim Kardashian’s soon to be ex husband, Kris Humphries, the NBA star got a dumped on again. This time by the crowd at Wednesday night’s pre-season Nets game against the New York Knicks.
Poor Hump! It seemed every time the 26 year old NBA star got his hands on the ball, the crowd relentlessly heckled him. What’s their beef? Were they pissed at the athlete for his role in the Kardashian media circus or does it have to do with the fact that Forbes recently declared the Nets forward the most disliked player in the NBA? Or maybe it’s because the Kardashians’ just have such a loyal New York fan base?
We don’t really know for sure, but it couldn’t have been easy for the ball player. Tear.
“That was not a smattering of boos,” Madison Square Garden announcer Al Trautwig remarked at the overwhelming heckling. “That’s villain in the Garden kind of booing.”
Hump played six scoreless minutes during the second quarter, and while he sat on the bench during the fourth quarter, the crowds chanted, “We want Humphries! We want Humphries!” – No doubt so they could heckle the former reality star some more.
“Everybody feels that they had the wool pulled over their eyes and I think that’s why he’s now become the most hated man in the NBA,” MSG commentator Kelly Tripucka said.
As for Humphries, all this negative energy was a bit of a shocker. He told ESPN, “I don’t know…I felt like Rudy out there…I was so focused on the game, I couldn’t hear that.”
(Side note: If you haven’t seen the movie Rudy, get it on Netflix ASAP!)
On top of everything, the Nets lost the game, 88-82.
It’s a tough situation,” Carmelo Anthony said, whose wife LaLa is one of Kardashian’s besties. “New York fans [are] New York fans. I like it, to be honest with you. That’s how it should be.”
Personally, we hope the public eases up on K-Hump. What about you! Do you think Kris will get booed all season?
